Chicken DIY Review

So I just wanted to post an honest review of the Chicken DIY Guide that my bf and I used for our coop. The reason we decided to build our own coop is because of the high cost of pre-built chicken coops, and trust me I did extensive cost comparison, and the cheapest way to go is to build your own coop. I also looked over a few hen house plans that are out there before deciding that this one was the best. So when you buy the Chicken DIY Guide you receive 7 different hen house plans in all shapes and sizes. We decided to make the mini-coup. You also get 26 videos that are all good for helping you learn more about chickens and 6 bonus pdf files that I personally love. The instructions are very very easy, and that says alot considering my bf and I have no prior construction experience. You also do not need any crazy tools, just the normal everyday tools that most people already have in their house. I found the pdf files a bit drab, but I am one of those people who likes pictures in my books. Overall though a great buy and well worth it. So go and buy yours today! You will thank me ten fold. Second Task: Build It!

So after my bf and I bought our Chicken DIY Guide, we went out and got all the supplies we needed to build our first coop which ended up being cheaper than we had thought which was great. We then started to build our coop. Bottom line, it was such a fun experience. Since we both work as well as have a one year old daughter this whole building process took way longer than it probably should have, but it was well worth it. Next step: find the chickens for our hen house.

The First Task: Research!

So a few weeks ago my bf and I decided that we wanted to raise our own chickens in our backyard, so I started doing some research. First thing I wanted to know was the price difference between actually buying an already build coop compared to us building our own. Huge price difference! It turns out it is way way cheaper to build your own coop, but the thing I was worried about was the fact that neither my bf or I have any construction experience. I dabbled in wood working when I was in grade school, but that is it. So, my next task was to find some sort of easy step-by-step instructions on building your own chicken coups. So, and hour later I came across this Chicken DIY Guide. So excited was I to find these hen house plans! Now onto the next task, the building.
