The reason we decided to build our own coop is because of the high cost of pre-built chicken coops, and trust me I did extensive cost comparison, and the cheapest way to go is to build your own coop. I also looked over a few hen house plans that are out there before deciding that this one was the best. The instructions are very very easy, and that says alot considering my bf and I have no prior construction experience.
